This web site and the Sarcoidosis Center have won the American College of Chest Physicians Governor's Award for Community Service. 2000 was the second year this award has been available and that year there were over 150 entries.

The award was presented to the author at the American College of Chest Physicians annual meeting in San Francisco, California, October 21, 2000. A copy of the certificate and photo of the trophy are displayed below. Representatives from around the world were present at this prestigious meeting. The author is humbled by the presence of such talented individuals and will use the award to further develop the Center. Donations to help in this endeavor can be sent to:

This money was used to help current sarcoidosis patients. Our services are aimed at helping patients understand their disease and to provide moral support to the patient and their family members. Additional programs are designed to educate health care professionals about current developments in the understanding and therapy of this enigmatic disease.
